BIO
Angie Jones (b. 1968) grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Jones is an award-winning artist, animation director, and VFX expert whose interdisciplinary practice bridges Hollywood animation and fine art worlds.
Jones’s interdisciplinary artwork is an introspective and social critique that examines the interplay of identity, technology, and the environment. Her practice explores themes such as media saturation, digital culture, the intersection of classical and contemporary art, and the evolving impact of augmented reality on perception.
She employs techniques reminiscent of low-polygon video game art, vibrant neon colors, and angular forms, deconstructing and reconstructing imagery to challenge spatial boundaries. Her use of augmented reality offers immersive experiences, encouraging viewers to reconsider the intersections of history, technology, and digital culture.
Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as Corey Helford Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Miami Art Basel, FL; Huntington Beach Art Center, Huntington Beach, CA; Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach, CA; Ball State University Atrium Gallery, Muncie, IN; Bedford Gallery, Walnut Creek, CA; and Rockford Art Museum, Rockford, IL. Notable exhibitions include Rhythms & Visions Expanded Live Show at USC (2018) and a solo show at Prohibition Gallery in Los Angeles (2014).
Jones’s work is in prestigious public and private collections and has been featured in LA Weekly, The Wall Street Journal, Apartment Therapy, Platinum Cheese, Quiet Lunch, and Get Inspired. She is represented by Corey Helford Gallery, Los Angeles, CA. She holds an MFA in Studio Art from Laguna College of Art + Design and a BFA in Electronic Arts from the Atlanta College of Art.
Jones lives in Los Angeles with her trusted art critic, Bacon the Cat.
