STIX AND JONES - about

Statement: Bridging Art and Tech
Angie Jones, known professionally as Stix and Jones, is an accomplished American artist currently based in Los Angeles, California. Her diverse artistic portfolio encompasses painting, video, and sculpture, all of which serve as a lens through which she explores the impact of technology on our lives. Notably, Jones employs faceted surfaces, reminiscent of low-polygon video game art, to transform the old into something entirely new, reinvigorating the past with a contemporary twist.
With one foot firmly planted in the past and the other in the future, Angie questions our perception of art and imagery, skillfully navigating the intersection of the physical and digital realms. Her creative process elegantly fuses traditional and innovative approaches, provoking introspection on how history, technology, and science influence our connection with art.
Jones brings a unique depth to her artistic practice, boasting over 25 years of expertise in
Visual Effects and Animation.
Her contributions span notable works such as Stuart Little, Pan's Labyrinth, X-Men, Red Dead Redemption, and Abe's Exoddus, culminating in a rich and distinct artistic palette and textured surfaces informed by her diverse experiences.
In the upcoming year, starting in 2024, Angie Jones will be featured at the Corey Helford Gallery in two prominent exhibitions: "Art Collector Starter Kit 10 (X)" from January 13 to February 17, 2024, and the "Care Bears Generation" Show on February 24, 2024, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Throughout her career, Jones has left an indelible mark in the art world. In 2023, she was honored as the Director's pick at The Other Art Fair, and her work was showcased at
Miami Art Basel
in 2017, with a focus on
Pantone-inspired art,
and the release of limited edition Ultra-Violet prints through
Saatchi Art's
support. Her solo exhibitions have graced esteemed venues, including the
Prohibition Gallery (2014)
, and she has been featured at prestigious institutions like the
Ball State University Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery
in 2015 and the
Rockford Art Museum
in 2011.
Angie Jones' art has received widespread recognition and has been featured in prominent publications such as LA Weekly,
Apartment Therapy, The Wall Street Journal, and more. Her academic journey includes a degree in Electronic Arts from the
Atlanta College of Art
and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the
