BIOGRAPHY Stix and Jones - Painter

As a small child, Angie Jones discovered her love for drawing... on the walls of her childhood home. One day her mother saw Angie running back and forth from the hallway to her bedroom window and asked her what she was doing. As her mother moved closer, she saw that the four year-old was running back an forth to look outside her window as reference her masterpiece on the pristine, white hallway wall. Mom never was able to get that wall painted white again.
Jones graduated Atlanta College of Art (now, SCAD) in 1994 leaving traditional mediums behind for a computer mouse. She created award-winning animation in Hollywood for almost two decades. Her background working in animation gave her a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for fine tuning ideas into a concise clear point of view. Angie has returned to her love for traditional art under the moniker Stix and Jones. In January 2007, Jones found master painter Cheryl Kline in Los Angeles and attended the Kline Academy of Fine art for two years. She continued the atelier study at Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art for another half of a year. Her work has appeared in several Los Angeles group exhibitions. Jones updates her online art journal frequently with new work, pieces in progress, musings, inspiration, information about shows and more.
