I am painting a special piece just for the Dogtown Rescue
group show at Gallery Meltdown.
Hints...there is a pit bull and a skull,
but that is all I am telling you!
20% of all proceeds will go to the rescue shelter. Dogtown does a lot to help the pets of the homeless community, and takes in, rehabilitates, and adopts out abandoned and unwanted dogs, the majority of which are pits and pitbull mixes. The dogs are really well cared for, and go out to play in large packs twice a day. Because they spend so much time with the dogs, they have very little time for fund raising. You can check out their website at www.downtowndogrescue.org.It is a great cause, and I hope you all will come out to see the art and support!

A Short History of Skate Art
(Traveling US Show)
Skate Art from 1960's to Present
Starts June 2010 - 2012
The skate boards are joining a nation wide tour!
The exhibition's first stop is July 22 - September 22 at the Gallery at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, then to the Akron Art Museum in Ohio, and other venues through 2012.
Carrie Lederer of Bedford Gallery presents an anthology of skate art from the 1960's to the present. The skate artist's aesthetic-raw, passionate, and personal-is energized by a devotion to the act of skating and a DIY embrace of skate culture. Since the first graphic was drawn onto a board, the culture of skateboarding has grown hand-in-hand with visual arts movements such as the Mission School (Barry McGee, Chris Johanson), Pop Art, and graffiti.
